Banyan Global is implementing the U.S. Agency for International Development Partnerships for Productivity (USAID PADU) Activity in Indonesia.

The five-year Activity, initiated in FY23, aims to enhance private sector investment in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions through partnerships with private sector firms and government-run vocational training centers called Balai Latihan Kerja (BLKs).


The key objectives of the Activity are:

  • Increase and strengthen partnerships between private sector and BLKs to implement market-driven and inclusive vocational training programs and
  • Improve BLK strategic partnership institutional capacity to implement market-driven and inclusive vocational training programs.


Banyan Global is seeking a Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist to support communications and knowledge management (KM) for the USAID PADU Activity.

This is a full-time position based in Jakarta.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the implementation of a Strategic Communications Plan for the project.
  • Assist in any adaptations to the strategic communications plan, as required per activities in the annual workplans.
  • Support knowledge management efforts to strengthen information sharing and learning across the project and the workforce development sector in Indonesia.
  • Develop and manage the quarterly and annual reporting process to include information extraction from team members, generation of content, drafting of narrative and graphics/infographics, editing, and coordination with HQ team members.
  • Write and edit reports, success stories, impact stories, media advisories, media pitches, PowerPoint slide decks, press releases, talking points, and other communications products.
  • Draft social media posts and manage an editorial calendar for social media channels, including Twitter and Facebook.
  • Responsible for monitoring relevant media outlets; cultivating relationships with the media; and organizing press events.
  • Design and manage webinars and inperson events for the project.
  • Provide research, writing, and editing support as required.
  • Oversee staff adherence to USAID branding requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of fulltime experience in communications and media relations.
  • Experience in international development required; experience with USAID branding and marking requirements preferred.
  • Proven writing and editing skills with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging style.
  • Strong graphics design experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Indonesian media landscape, experience pitching media preferred.
  • Experience developing social media content, building a social media presence, and monitoring news coverage and social media conversations.
  • Experience with knowledge management product development.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong office, organizational and management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and work within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, and media.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Indonesia and English is mandatory.
