Mott MacDonald Indonesia is seeking a skilled and motivated

Senior Wastewater Engineer for our Indonesian office. This person will work with a team of dedicated water and wastewater professionals on planning and design of large water and water treatment infrastructure projects, focusing on municipal water pumping; transmission and distribution; and wastewater collection and pumping.


Roles and responsibilities include:


  • Planning and modelling of water and/or wastewater systems
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs and associated calculations for wastewater treatment, Faecal Sludge Management, review cost estimates / schedules, update technical specifications scopes of work / terms of reference and drawings (based on Civil3D and AUTOCAD)
  • Identify, evaluate and compare options to determine the most appropriate construction technologies (e.g. access, traffic disruptions, topographical information, geotechnical conditions and locations of existing services)
  • Support multisector agency liaison and approvals.
  • Detailed design of water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Project and/or Design Coordination of water/wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Presenting technical solutions to Client and key stakeholders (local government, PDAM, KIAT, MPWH, ADB).
  • Utilising existing professional networks for business development opportunities.
  • Liaison and coordination with Clients and Contractors.
  • Assisting with proposals preparation (technical approach, project team, relevant experience, schedule, fee estimate, commercial risk management, invoicing, local economic development requirements)

About You:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Engineering required. Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineers License (SKA, chartership) preferred or ability to be obtained in 612 months if required.
  • 8 or more years of experience working as Environmental Engineer in the water and/or wastewater field.
  • Experience relating to water and wastewater hydraulic network and engineering design is necessary, but working knowledge of all is not required.
  • Experience in preparing process treatment / civil design drawings, specifications and opinions of cost related to water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations etc. is preferred.
  • Experience in Donor Projects (especially ADB, World Bank, K-Exim Bank, JICA, KfW/ GIS, and KIAT) is a plus.
  • Experience working with national, regional and local agencies is a plus.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management and coordination skills and experience is essential for this position.
  • Construction management and commissioning experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a prerequisite.
  • Must be detail orientated, selfmotivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs.
  • Hydraulic modelling (SewerCAD, InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, InfoWater) and/or Civl3D modelling is a plus.
  • Experience in Public Private Partnership (PPP) and B2B transactions as technical advisor is a plus.
  • Experience in capacity building and training of operators and government entities is a plus
  • Specific experience with design of large pipelines of >1.0m diameter (hydraulic modelling, detailed engineering design) is a plus

Ability to use the following software:

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar
  • Q-GIS / Arc-GIS or similar
  • SewerCAD, InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, InfoWater or similar
