What you'll be doing

• Lead and manage the mine planning and technical services teams, providing guidance, mentorship and driving continuous improvement
• Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans to optimise production, productivity and resource utilisation
• Conduct feasibility studies, economic analyses and technical assessments to support strategic decision-making
• Ensure compliance with all relevant mining regulations and industry best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate mine planning activities with other operational departments
• Monitor and analyse mining performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
• Represent the department in management meetings and contribute to the overall business strategy

What we're looking for

• Minimum 8 years of experience in mine planning and technical services roles within the mining industry
• Strong technical expertise in mine design, production scheduling, equipment selection and resource estimation
• Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver on operational objectives
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Thorough understanding of mining regulations, safety protocols and environmental considerations
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology or a related field
