Business Analyst – AI / Conversational Systems

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of a multi-agent, AI-driven platform.

This role focuses on defining how the system should behave, not just what it should do.

You will work closely with product owners, engineers, data scientists, and QA to shape requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure AI responses align with real business intent and user outcomes.

The environment is fast-moving and iterative. Requirements will evolve as model behaviour is observed, therefore strong analytical thinking and comfort working with ambiguity are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Behaviour Definition

• Elicit, analyse, and document functional and behavioural requirements
• Translate business problems into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Define expected system behaviour across normal, edge, and failure scenarios
• Describe how AI responses should behave rather than only what screens should display
• Clarify ambiguous requirements through structured questioning and examples

Conversational & AI Logic

• Define conversation flows, user journeys, and decision paths
• Document intent handling, expected outputs, and fallback behaviours
• Identify incorrect, risky, or misleading responses and refine requirements accordingly
• Work with QA to determine pass/fail criteria for AI answers
• Help distinguish technically correct responses from contextually correct responses

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work daily with engineering and data teams to refine backlog items
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews
• Support prioritisation based on value, risk, and user impact
• Ensure requirements remain consistent across releases and iterations
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Data & Integration Awareness

• Understand API behaviour and system interactions at a logical level
• Validate that system outputs align with source data and business rules
• Identify gaps between requirements, implementation, and real-world usage

Required Experience

• 3+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or Product Analyst
• Experience working on software or platform delivery projects
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience collaborating with engineers and QA teams in Agile environments
• Ability to analyse complex behaviour and explain it clearly

Desirable Experience

• Experience working with AI, NLP, chatbots, or decision-based systems
• Defining customer journeys or conversation flows
• Working with APIs, integrations, or data-driven platforms
• Supporting iterative or experimental product development
• Experience validating outcomes rather than only documenting requirements
