    The Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring the achievement of the project objectives which relates to prevention or reduction of the risk behaviours which can lead to NCDs, as well as supporting the broader health and rights of young people.

    S/he is accountable for the successful implementation of the YHP project and growing the project portfolio.

    S/he will support the AH EVACY SP (Adolescent Healthy, Ends of Violence Against Children and Youth, Stunting Prevention) Programme Manager to strengthen the AH EVACY SP programme management.

    Dimensions of the Role:

  • The post holder reports to the AH EVACY SP Programme Manager.
  • Responsibly manage project planning, implementation, budgeting, and monitoring evaluation.
  • Together with project partners will proactively work to influence, support, and collaboratively working with local government related to NCDs risk behaviour issues at the district level.
  • Engage in advocacy, networking, and coordination in the district, and ensuring children and young people particularly girls and women are benefiting from the project
  • Represent the AH EVACY SP program to promote information on prevention or reduction of the risk behaviours which can lead to NCDs, as well as supporting the broader health and rights of young people, at the district level, when required.
  • Be responsible for the application of the peer education model to obtain clear and correct information on issues of NCDs, as well as integrate cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), mental health into programme activities.
  • Providing project partners with clear guidance core approaches: holistic programming, right based approach, leverage learning and existing programmes and relationships, and partnership building
  • Build proactive and positive communication and coordination with AH EVACY SP Programme Manager and other related positions internally as well project partners.

  • Accountabilities:

    Program implementation in line with the project design and planning:

  • Support the planning and design of the project which in line with CS4, monitoring and evaluation framework, budget plans, and communications strategy.
  • Develop and submit a consolidated detailed implementation plan (DIP) based on the area project specific plans.
  • Together with AH EVACY SP Programme Manager, communicate donor on program planning and budget.
  • Liaise closely with project district youth network and Government stakeholders to develop project planning.
  • Ensuring high quality of project implementation, compliance with project design and planning.
  • Able to provide explanation and justification to donor and partner on project quality if needed.
  • Establish linkage emergency programs with overall program design.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and supervise partners and related stakeholders for the provision of strategic support services.
  • Together with partners and project team develop and implement the scaling-up strategies as well as sustainability.
  • Support the M&E team to develop monitoring mechanisms, tools of project monitoring.
  • Working collaboratively with technical advisor/specialist in CO and district level for a cross-cutting theme such as gender, inclusion, participation, protection.
  • Technical expertise, skills and knowledge:

    Essential:

  • Bachelor degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, M&E, or any other relevant qualification.
  • At least 7 years of experience working on project management.
  • Experience of managing project implementation, delivering on obligations and a good awareness of donor requirements and priorities.
  • Experience in capacity building for local CSOs.
  • Good understanding about NCDs risk behaviour concept and practices.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Good analytical skill, well informed about methods to capture change/results of project implementation.
  • Skill in a diversity of partnerships, NGOs, research and government.
  • Demonstrated experience working with governments closely and effectively.
  • Strong cross-cultural skills and a demonstrated ability to influence change without direct authority, and to work successfully with farmers and professionals.
  • Financial and budgeting skills; fluent in speaking and writing English.
  • Good interpersonal communication and facilitation skills for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Possess good judgement to deal with conflict.
  • Able to work both in team and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and to multi-task.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and CCCD implementation.
  • Commitment to Fraud awareness policy.
  • Desirable:

  • Master degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, M&E, or any other relevant qualification.
  • Over 10 years of experience working on project management.
  • At least 5 years' experience or skills around connecting or working with young people
  • Good understanding about NCD risk behaviour concept and practices.
  • Good Knowledge on and Practices of Safeguarding.
