Group Director of Strategic Procurement

The Role:

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to oversee the global procurement of essential direct materials for our defense programs. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, supply chain resilience, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining strict compliance with industry regulations (ITAR/EAR). You will lead a team, manage key supplier relationships, and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to support our mission-critical operations.

Who You Are:

A seasoned procurement professional with a deep, 10+ year career exclusively within the defense and aerospace manufacturing sector. You have a proven track record of leading direct procurement strategies, negotiating complex contracts, and managing teams. You are equally comfortable setting long-term vision and diving into tactical supply chain challenges.

Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business).
• 10+ years of procurement/supply chain experience within defense & aerospace manufacturing.
• 8+ years in a managerial role, leading procurement professionals.
• Hands-on experience with ITAR and EAR regulations governing the supply chain.
• Career built within major defense contractors or aerospace primes.
• Proven commercial acumen and cost-saving delivery.

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with missile systems, radar, or guided weaponry supply chains.
• Familiarity with European defense primes

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and execute global procurement strategies for direct materials.
• Lead contract negotiations and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Ensure supply chain compliance and mitigate risks.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and manage budgets.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing stakeholders.
