Firizky Hayqal

Hayqal is a Legal Consultant with a strong foundation in general corporate and capital markets related matters. He is interested in issues relating to business, mining, and employment. My legal journey began at Ali Budiarjo, Nugroho, Reksodiputro (“ABNR”) Counsellors at Law, where I discovered and cultivated my passion for corporate law. This internship opportunity ignited a fire within me, and I eagerly absorbed the foundation of essential legal tasks such as research, document review, translation, and proofreading. I gained valuable experience in assisting the Associates with due diligence for complex corporate transactions in preparing initial list of requested documents and data entry. This exposure to the fast-paced and dynamic big-law atmosphere solidified my professional aspirations and set me on the path to becoming a skilled corporate lawyer.

Moreover, my recent professional experience at Indrawan Darsyah Santoso (“IDS”) Attorneys at Law has equipped me with valuable practical skills in various areas of corporate law. In my current role as a Junior Associate in the corporate & securities practice group, I gained experience in conducting legal due diligence on a telecommunication infrastructure provider company with 20+ subsidiaries in its interest to conduct corporate action of bonds issuance. I independently handled due diligence for six of the subsidiaries. I also supported the Partners in advising a foreign company in its interest to acquire a coal mining company in Indonesia (IUP-OP holder) through an Indonesian Public Limited Company (PLC). This involved navigating capital markets and mine shareholding divestment regulations, employee restructuring, as well as corporate governance matters relating to amendments of articles of association, change of address, and change of shareholders. Working within the close-knit team of a boutique law firm, I thrived upon the opportunity to work directly with the Partners while developing versatility as a young corporate lawyer across diverse legal matters. 

Working at both ABNR and IDS gave me a strong foundation in corporate legal skills. At ABNR, I discovered my passion for corporate law by doing legal research and reviews, while building the basics of legal analysis and accuracy. IDS then helped me develop my practical skills through real-word involvement in complex corporate matters. This combined experience equips me with a well-rounded skillset to thrive in the early stage of my career.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in law from Parahyangan Catholic University, graduating in May 2023. Throughout my studies, I actively participated in various extracurricular activities, including organising the Parahyangan Law Debate Competition and the Annual Faculty Election, demonstrating my leadership and organizational skills.
